I am back with a birthday wish on their special day. The Maestro Ilayaraja and the legend director Maniratnam are celebrating their birthday on the same day. Both are legend in their own profession. Ilayaraja songs are still rocking in the south india industry whereas Maniratnam movies never get fade away. today we just going to see their ultimate hit movies in which they worked together.

1.THALAPATHY
The new version of Mahabarat. The director beautifully portrayed the friendship of Karn and Dhuriyodan. And the mother's pain who left her son within a minutes of his birth. And the pain of the son who faces so many problems and struggles without knowing who is his parents. And the unspoken love between karn and drupadi was wonderfully exposed. The actors and bgm music were just rocking. Hats off to the music director and director of the movie. The song Sundari kannal oru seithi and kaatukuyil is still ruling in the music lovers playlist. Friendship day is incomplete without this meha hit movie. And the music is the strongest part to express the aesthetic of this movie.
2.NAYAGAN
One of the best movies in Maniratnam direction along with Ilayaraja's music. The way he get the girl from the place and getting married with her is not such a regular thing. He directed the movie as much as beautiful. Yet the music is another milestone for Ilayaraja. Kamal has done his best in this movie. Nee oru kadhal sangeetham(you're my love music) is the favorite song among the young couples.
3.ANJALI
This should be every 90's kids favorite movie in those time. The little girl shamlee had cutely done her part. This is the story of a little girl who was affected by some kind of mental illness and her mother who believed that the girl was dead during her pregnancy. Later she came to know about the girl child who was protected by her father himself. The climax can broke everyone's heart into pieces. Such a fantastic movie with well matured actors. Yet another masterpiece with Ilayaraja music and Maniratnam's direction.
4.MOUNA RAGAM
The movie which shows there's a life after love failure in 80's period. Every single scene has the perfect and neat Maniratnam touch. Everybody done their part perfectly without any over act. The cinematography was extraordinary. The movie which is the inspiration for many young directors. Also the movie shows many people's real life. And you need a new dictionary to express your feelings through words when you hear the songs.
5.AGNI NATCHATHIRAM
The story of father and his two sons of two mother. The one is fighting for his right whereas another longing for his father's love. A super story moving seriously along with Kartik and Prabhu. Again the Maestro's music scores stunningly. Every movie is a masterpiece for both Maniratnam and Ilayaraja. The song ninnukori and the actress Amala dance moves are so gracious to watch. And Kartik introduction song Raja rajathi rajan is perfect introduction song for a hero in 80's days.
They are the combo who were dominating the cinema in early period. It's a bliss that they both are celebrating their birthday on the same day. So let us happily wish on their birthday to live more and to give more movies and songs like ever.
